Applying for grants

The Access to Justice Foundation recently accepted applications for small grants as detailed in the Grants Invitation and the Application Form. The deadline for applications was 9am 19th October 2009.

The Foundation has announced the results of the small grants funding round.

About Foundation grants

Using moneys raised from schemes, of which the scheme under section 194 is one, the Foundation will make grants in accordance with its Distribution Principles to:

  • National pro bono organisations (deploying pro bono assistance within England & Wales or within the developing world).
  • Regional Legal Support Trusts, to support regional and local need.
  • Strategic pro bono projects which may have wider potential regionally or nationally.

The Foundation will not:

  • Fund litigation (including disbursements).
  • Fund as a substitute for publicly funded legal assistance (legal aid).
